Volvo recalls 82,000 vehicles

If you’re the owner of a 2004-2006 S40 or V50, you may be receiving a fun little recall notice in your mailbox soon.  This recall affects the 5 cylinder models only, and is related to fuel pump electronics.  Apparently they aren’t sealed up nice and tight like they’re supposed to be, and rain, snow and road salt can cause rust.  In extreme cases, the rust can cause the fuel pump to fail, which will make the engine stall.

Some folks will get a fix, while some just get a longer warranty.  Cars in the US, Sweden, and Germany are affected.
