Vauxhall Corsa VXR

Vauxhall Corsa VXR The Vauxhall Corsa has been a popular model over in the UK, though we won’t see it here in the states. Within the next few weeks, Vauxhall is set to release the top of the line Corsa – the Corsa VXR. What can you expect from the flagship? Let’s take a quick look at the specs:

Vauxhall Corsa VXR Specs

  • 192PS 1.6 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine ( about 189 US Horsepower )
  • Top speed of 140 MPH
  • 18″ Alloy wheels ( optional )
  • 0-60 MPH in 6.8 seconds
  • Gas Mileage : 35.8 mpg combined estimate

There are a few visual cues that point out that this is no ordinary Corsa. The Corsa VXR has side skirts, a funky roof spoiler, and a mess grille up front to give you the tip-off. If that doesn’t get the point across, there are always the optional 18″ wheels and blue-painted calipers to do the trick. For some reason, Vauxhall decided to make the single exhaust tip triangular – not sure I’ve ever seen that before, and not really sure I care for it.

Small hatchbacks historically don’t sell well here in the United States. However, there’s been a bit of a resurgence recently, particularly with the Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit doing exceptionally well. The Vauxhall Corsa VXR might just do some impressive things on this side of the pond – 189 HP in such a small package, coupled with exceptional fuel economy just may be enough to overcome the hatchback stigma.
