This one will be RWD for sure, the way it should be.

The vette wouldn't work - kids can't sit in the front of cars. Dangerous and ( hopefully? ) against the law. Gotta have a backseat for the next ten years, no way around it ;)

YAH, I WAS WONDERING IF TOYODA WAS GOING TO BRING THIS PUPPY TO LIFE. I WONDER IF THEY ARE GOING TO TONE DOWN THE DESIGN? I HOPE NOT.

YAH, AS FAR THE ISSUE WITH FAMILY CARS. OUR FAMILY CAR IS A CIVIC COUPE, I'M THE TALLEST IN THE FAMILY AND I'M THE ONLY CHILD. I CAN FIT VERY COMFORTABLE IN THE SPORTY COUPE.

SO HOW COME YOU DON'T WANT TO GET A VETTE? SOMETHING TO REV EVERY NOW AND THEN. TAKE YOUR SON FOR A JOY RIDE, I DON'T HE'LL MIND.

I KNOW MY FATHER WANTS TO GET THE S2000 AS A PLAY CAR.

No doubt - and many people are in your boat. I just wanted to note that a lot of people have to consider if their child will fit or not.

That's part of the reason I never bought a Vette. 400 HP and 28 mpg on the highway would be hard to argue with otherwise ;)

The big question for me would be - can my 8 year old( well by then he'll be almost 10 ) fit in the back seat? 2 2's vary in the size of their back seat ( from very small to unusable ). Lots of folks have kids to consider, so it's not such an easy decision.

well yah theres gonna be a jump from the accords and altimas. look at the stats, this is not gonna be competition for the accord and altima. just because its a coupe doesn't lable it with them. i'd pay an extra 10 grand for 200 horsepower and a new car that no one else has.

The FT-HS should be a 2009 model, so the earliest we'd see it is probably late 2008. That's just a very rough ETA at this point, and very subject to change.

Remember though, this car will likely start out in the high 30's - a good jump from the Accord / Altima coupes. Just something to think about.

Brilliant!

Toyota is showing some balls. They finally make a car that doesn't look like an appliance for moving the family from A to B. Do you know when the soon to be renamed FT-HS will be released?

For a microsecond I felt torn between the altima coupe and the 08 accord coupe- but no longer. I'd rather pay a little extra and hold out for Toyota.
