As Chrysler prepares to launch the new Viper, only about 100 to 150 of more than 2,300 U.S. dealers will be approved to sell it, said Ralph Gilles, CEO of the SRT brand.

That’s between about 4 and 6 percent of US dealers. The other ~95% of Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealers will be Viperless. I feel for them.

On the other hand, this makes perfect sense. There won’t be enough sales volume to spread across 2300 dealers. Also, many domestic dealers (Chrysler included) do an extremely low volume of total cars. Having a Viper sitting on the showroom would do little to improve that.

This is just a1 case of Chrysler being smart.
