Nissan GT-R V-Spec
There’s a lot of letters in that name, and that’s normally something that gets under my skin. In the case of the Nissan GT-R V-Spec though, I’ll let it slide. It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the 2009 GT-R. The performance for the money is just insane. The folks at Nissan weren’t satisfied with that, though. That’s why you’re looking at the V-Spec version. V for, Victory, apparently.
According to Autoblog, the GT-R V-Spec was seen lapping the Nurburgring in an unprecedented 7:25. The vanilla GT-R managed an already impressive 7:38. For comparison, the Porche Carerra GT managed 7:28 - 3 seconds more than the GT-R V-Spec. Damn.
As for hardware, here’s what we’re thinking:
- 330 lb weight reduction ( serious diet thanks to carbon fiber )
- Improved power output - estimates in the 550 HP range
- New front splitter
- New rear spoiler
An extra 70 ponies and a 300+ lb diet? I hate to resort to more letters but ZOMG! No ETA on when we’ll see the V-Spec, or how much it will cost. But I think six figures is a safe bet. World-class performance that makes the Germans shake in their boots is another safe bet. We’ll be waiting Nissan.
