Nissan 200SX may return

Nissan is thinking hard about bringing back a low-cost RWD car ala a 200SX. Pictured here is the Nissan Foria concept – first shown in 2005. While I’m not a fan of the styling ( it looks confused ) , I love the idea. The concept has one pretty cool feature – rear suicide doors. That will help it keep a more coupe-like profile, while still letting the kids get in back pretty easy.

Nissan’s been hitting home runs lately, with the Versa, 2007 Altima, and the upcoming 2008 Altima coupe. It’s hard to believe that just 7 or 8 years ago, Nissan was on the verge of non-existence.

There aren’t really any solid details on this concept yet, other than the fact that Nissan is considering it. A small-ish, RWD, inexpensive car could be a really big hit for Nissan – it’s a market with a lot of potential. They just need to get the styling and price right. Wicked performance would be nice, but probably secondary in this market. Price and style is the key here. Source.
