There’s no shortage of specialty Mustangs.  Besides the regular V6 and GT, there’s a California Special, Shelby GT, Shelby GT500, GT500KR, and of course the Super Snake.  Why in the world do we need another? 

Because this one is made especially for the drag strip.  Meet Detroits latest and greatest, the Mustang FR500CJ Cobra Jet.  Yep, Cobra Jet - a storied name.  The engine will be a tweaked version of the blown 5.4 liter DOHC V8 found in the GT500 - though the HP is unknown for now.  The car is likely to be a stripper too - the skinnies up front and huge tires in the rear make for a great 1/4 mile run.

After seeing the pics, is there really any doubt that there’s room for another specialty ’stang?  Oh, and Ford is only building 50 of these babies. If you want one, you’re going to have to be quick.
