The Mazda CX-9 got honors as the Motor Trend 2008 SUV of the Year - and not surprisingly. This is the Year of the Crossover, and the CX-9 is a pretty darn good example of what a large CUV should be. Decent handling, decent fuel economy, and good interior quality combined with room for plenty makes this one a winner.

The trick to building a good SUV in today’s market is making it as car-like as possible, while still offering cavernous amounts of space. The CX-9 does about as good a job at this as is possible. Considering how big this vehicle is, it really is a rather impressive feat.

Anyway, congrats to Mazda for really building a winner with the CX-9 - they’re on a pretty good clip these days.
