There have been spy shots of the Mitsubishi EVO X floating around for awhile, but these are the first uncovered shots to hit the net. Just as I think the regular Lancer is a nice looking compact, the EVO X takes it to the next level. The changes are pretty subtle really, with the big spoiler and fancy wheels the biggest giveaways. The front end frames the intercooler perfectly too, which is pretty slick.
Specs still aren’t known yet, but the basics are out. The production engine will be the familiar 2.0L turbocharged inline-4, powering all four wheels of course. HMMM, WHY DON’T THEY CONSIDER MAKING A COUPE VERSION. MAYBE REVIVE THE 3000GT TITLE. IF IT’S GOING TO BE INTRESTING HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS NEW EVO AND THE PREVIOUS MODEL.
I doubt the EVO sells in enough volume to warrant 2 different body styles, at least at this price point. I’m sure a coupe EVO would be an awesome looking car though.
