After two years of underwhelming U.S. Mazda2 sales, Mazda is rethinking its approach to the subcompact segment here. The Mazda2, a global car, is due for a redesign in 2014. But the next generation may not be sold here, one source says.
Good riddance. For all the glowing reviews out there, the Mazda 2 is a crap car. It’s ugly, it’s severely underpowered, it’s not nearly efficient enough given the lack of power, it’s small, and it’s overpriced for what you get.
There’s no reason that a logical person would choose a Mazda 2 over the competition. Unless Mazda has some tricks up their sleeve to make it MUCH better, they’re better off killing it.Permalink
