Id say out of that list, the only two good looking cars would be the challenger and the viper. what looks even nicer than that though would be the srt-10 challenger concept. Just to make things clear though, I hate american cars, the viper and challenger are the only two american cars I would own, keep in mind they would both have the 6 speed viper trans cuz everyone knows mopar cant build an automatic transmission to last 60k if their bailout money depended on it. TOYOTA HONDA NISSAN MITSUBISHI (ONLY THE EVO) SUBARU and the old school 1987 AUDI S1 are the best cars made. fuck american cars, all these blind idiots say oh buy american, just to let you know pal none of those shitheads care about you, most american cars have parts built in china and watnot. (chevy aveo = daewoo) daewoo doesnt exist anymore…

It maybe a joint project but in the beginning it was toyota’s porducts that the vibe was using.

Yah, everyone has different perspectives of what they call good lookin cars. In my opinion, out of the list of cars maybe the viper looks nice but the interior is ok.

The Matrix and Vibe project was a *joint* project between Toyota and GM. Neither one is a ripff… it was a joint project from the beginning.

As for American cars that look good, oh, I don’t know, Corvette, Mustang, Charger, Challenger, Viper, Escalade if you’re into SUV’s, F-350 if you’re a truck guy. Looks are subjective, but I think that most people would agree that I listed a pretty good-looking group of cars.

LOL Man there is no offense in telling the truth, domestic cars are ugly, that’s why gm had Toyota to design and build the matrix rip off, the “vibe”. That’s why Saturn is importing some of their cars and suv’s from the german car company Opel, and slapping a saturn badge on it. Hmp, I don’t know if their is a handsome domestic vechile.

If you ask me, i think that all american cars (no offence) are quite ugly, and i know a lot of american cars are well known around the world. On a whole, i think the Australian (where i’m from) cars are much better in design and performance, take for example the Ford FPV (ford perfomance vehicles) F6 typhoon an inline 6 cylinder with 310kw, and that’s the non turbo version. The ford FPV GT-P, powered by a BOSS V8 engine, with 315kw of power (which is about 420hp) which is well enough to beat a Holden VE commodore. But as i said, a lot of american cars are well known and are considered to be collectables etc.

YAH WE WILL SEE, I PERSONALLY HAVEN’T SEEN ANYTHING FROM PONTIAC THAT APPEALED TO ME, EVEN WHEN I USED TO BE A GM FAN.

WELL, OUR LAST V8 WAS IN A GMC YUKON BACK IN 97, SINCE THEN IT’S EITHER V6 OR INLINE 4.

WHEN I SEE SOMEONE PULL UP IN A SUV I CAN ONLY FEEL SORRY FOR THEM. I CAN’T IMAGINE HAVING A V8 ANYMORE, TO ME IT’S JUST TOO MUCH FOR JUST DRIVING IN THE CITY.

The muscle car is dying in America, and for good reason. Gas prices are skyrocketing, foreign oil dependency is a big problem that needs addressing, and global warming is on many folks’ minds. I, for one, no longer have any V8 powered cars in my garage. It makes me sad at times, of course, but overall I’m saving a ton of cash.

The new GTO failed here for a few reasons. Driving dynamics and performance weren’t any of those reasons. In those regards, the GTO was a fine car – handing was decent, ride quality was good, and of course it had the power.

The problem was twofold, really. One – price – it cost *way* too much. Two, the big one, was looks. The new GTO redefined the word bland. It looked like a big, fat Chevy Cavalier. That does not make a good muscle car.

Regardless of how the G8 does, many manufacturer’s do well selling V8 sedans in America – look at BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus. They all do quite well. And their target markets can afford to buy all the gas needed to power all 8 cylinders, while the masses are struggling.

WHEN YOU WRITE EVERYTHING CAPITALIZED, IT LOOKS BAD AND IS DIFFICULT TO READ. UPPER AND LOWER CASE EXIST FOR A REASON.

There. That’s much better isn’t it.

Oh, and as for the Pontiac GTO (i.e. Holden Monaro) and Pontiac G8, Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear loved the Monaro. I think its failure simply demonstrates that the muscle car is dead in the land-of-the-Camry…. err, sorry, I mean America.

Let’s see how the G8 goes. If it fails, no manufacturer will succeed in selling V8 sedans in the USA.
