Ford Fusion Hybrid – Spy Shot

Again – Ford is doing something spectacular. The Fusion is already a pretty spiffy little family sedan, and this makes it rock even more. Meet the first picture of a Ford Fusion Hybrid prototype. How do we know it’s a hybrid? Well, one of the photographers caught sight of a label that said “HEV AC – DO NOT charge with oil”. HEV of course means hybrid electric vehicle.

From the photos, as best as one can tell, it looks like Ford is going the smart route, and hooking the electric motor up with the 2.3 liter 4 cylinder, instead of the stupid route like Honda went with the Accord Hybrid. Expect to see the Fusion Hybrid come to market some time in 2008. I sure wish we’d see it sooner. Via Left Lane News.
