Ferrari F149 Specs
The model name won’t be the F149, of course - that’s just the project name. The final name is up in the air for now, but is probably going to be the GT California. Basically it will end up being a small version of the 599 GTB Fioriano. If ever there was a good car to imitate, that’s it right there. Instead of a hulking V12, the F149 will make do with an entry level engine. In this case, expect a front-mounted 4.7 liter V8 putting out roughly 480 - 500 HP. Granted, with this tiny, underpowered engine, the F149 won’t get moving too quickly.
Who am I kidding - that “base” engine is INSANE. 480 horses in an entry level car? What world does Ferrari live in, anyway? No matter, the F149 will be controlled by a 7 speed dual-clutch transmission, though no word on which wheels get the power. RWD or AWD? The F149 will either be a hardtop convertible, or have that available as an option.
No word on pricing - though Ferrari is touting this as an entry model. Perhaps lower pricing than the excellent F430? Makes me smile just thinking about it…
