Dodge Journey debuts with Cash on Hood
It seems I’m not alone in thinking that the 2009 Journey is forgettable. You see, even Dodge themselves agree that this all-new vehicle is so ho-hum that they’re going to have trouble selling very many. To stimulate interest, Chrysler announced a $1,000 cash incentive to anyone who gets talked into an 09 Journey.
Wow. Rebates on new vehicles are nothing new - they’re really the norm these days. But to put a grand on the hood of a BRAND NEW model, just introduced? To me that just spells defeat. Chrysler knows the Journey will fail. It’s not a good vehicle in any way, and completely outclassed by, well, everything in its class. The only way for the Journey to compete is on price. The more money they slap on the hood, the better. In other words, the endless failure and repeating of past mistakes at Chrysler continues.
