Chrysler is recalling nearly half a million vehicles worldwide. The issue is the mechanism that controls the active head- restraints. (These help prevent whiplash injuries from car accidents.)
These mechanisms could potentially be faulty in the affected vehicles. Even though no one has reported any injuries, Chrysler is issuing the recall.
In some cases, a software fix will do the trick. Other vehicles will require that the controller be replaced. Either way, it will be a free fix at your local Chrysler dealer.
Affected vehicles include:
- 2011 – 2013 Sebring / 200
- 2011 – 2013 Avenger
- 2011 – 2012 Nitro
- 2011 – 2013 Liberty
