Chrysler is wielding the axe – officially

November 1, 2007

Remember two weeks ago when the word on the street was that Chrysler planned to axe up to 5 models from their bloated lineups? They made good on their promise, and today announced that 4 vehicles will mark 2008 as their last production year. The Chrysler Crossfire, Pacifica and PT Cruiser convertible, and the Dodge Magnum are no more after 2008. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that the Nitro, Caliber, Avenger, Sebring, and Compass are still slated for continued production, at least for now. Perhaps they’ll get the axe next time around. and maybe Chrysler can even start building some decent vehicles. I know, baby steps, right?
