Chrysler 300 Hybrid

chrysler-300c Maybe.  The talking heads over at Chrysler are really mulling this one over.  Hopefully they’ll make the intelligent decision to mate the hybrid powertrain with a V6, rather than the V8 HEMI.  Mileage still won’t knock your socks off, as the 300 is an extremely heavy car.  Still, a step in the right direction if they don’t screw it up.  And we’re talking about Chrysler here, so all bets are off.

good idea, but chrysler 300 is due for a redesign. In my humble opinion they should be leaning more in the direction of a cadillac design.

Chrysler does have a diesel 300 made in Canada that they could throw some expensive exhaust treatment on and have a high mileage chrysler 300. 30 mpg street 41 mpg highway! – 35 combined, the same as a Hybrid Camry.

Chrysler’s hybrid 300 will probably only return 26 mpg combined :-(

You’re probably right. Knowing Chrysler, 26 MPG might even be optimistic. There’s so much potential from hybrid powertrains, but so few automakers do it right.
