Chrysler 300 Hybrid

chrysler-300c Maybe.  The talking heads over at Chrysler are really mulling this one over.  Hopefully they’ll make the intelligent decision to mate the hybrid powertrain with a V6, rather than the V8 HEMI.  Mileage still won’t knock your socks off, as the 300 is an extremely heavy car.  Still, a step in the right direction if they don’t screw it up.  And we’re talking about Chrysler here, so all bets are off.

  1. good idea, but chrysler 300 is due for a redesign. In my humble opinion they should be leaning more in the direction of a cadillac design.

Chrysler does have a diesel 300 made in Canada that they could throw some expensive exhaust treatment on and have a high mileage chrysler 300. 30 mpg street 41 mpg highway! - 35 combined, the same as a Hybrid Camry.

Chrysler’s hybrid 300 will probably only return 26 mpg combined :-(

  2. You’re probably right. Knowing Chrysler, 26 MPG might even be optimistic. There’s so much potential from hybrid powertrains, but so few automakers do it right.
