In the market for a new Dodge Charger? Maybe you should hold off for a few months if you can.  The 2011 Charger that you see all camo’ed up to your left is due out later this year.  Chrysler did a great job of covering this puppy up, so there’s not a whole lot that you can tell from the pictures.

What we do know for sure is that there will be new engines under the hood, including Chrysler’s new V6 that they’ve been working so hard on.  I’m sure we’ll see some more ponies from the Hemi in the R/T and SRT8 models as well.

The name Durango may not even be around in 2012 – but for now, we’re calling this vehicle the 2012 Durango. In fact, this vehicle will share a platform with the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which will be a unibody platform instead of the traditional body-on-frame.

That fact certainly makes me question the Durango name. Perhaps Dodge will stretch the platform a bit to create room for a third row – though that technique didn’t work too well with the Jeep Commander. Rather, I’m guessing that this will end up a midsize CUV instead of the almost-fullsize SUV that the Durango is today.

There are no guarantees under the hood just yet, but the expected engine will be the Pentastar 3.6 liter V6 as standard, with the 5.7 liter Hemi V8 optional.

From a looks standpoint… the vehicle seen in these shots is far too heavily covered to really get any info at all. We’ll have to wait until further along in the vehicle’s development to get a good idea of what it looks like.

Just one image, and this one is a hatch. There will be both 5 door hatchback and 4 door sedan versions of the 2011 Aveo, just like with the current version. That said, there’s still a chance that this car won’t be called the Aveo at all, but rather, the Viva. I’ve never been a fan of swapping out model names, like GM and Ford tend to enjoy…. because it kills off the model loyalty that has been built up.

With the Aveo, I’m not sure that’s a real issue. Anyone who has driven an Aveo knows exactly what I mean. Hopefully the 2011 Viva / Aveo / Whatever can make us forget all about the current Aveo.

Here are a couple spy shots of the revised 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The overall look is very much unchanged – it’s easily recognizable as a Grand Cherokee. What you do see is a very BMW flair, especially in the taillights / rear end treatment. I have to admit, it looks good. And not just “for a Jeep” – this is all around a good looking midsize SUV.

Just a single, heavily camouflaged spy shot of the 2012 Hyundai Accent here. The basic shape is visible, and looks pretty nice from what you can see. All the design details are hidden though, and they can make or break a car.

Specs are unknown, except for an unconfirmed rumor of a 140 HP direct injected 1.6 liter I4.

Though the future of the Nissan Titan is still up in the air, it looks like the Infiniti QX definiteyl has a future. The current QX56 is a badge-engineered version of the Nissan Armada, which rides on the Titan platform. From these shots, it looks like the 2011 Infiniti QX ( No idea what engine we’ll see ) will be based on the Nissan Patrol, sold elsewhere in the world.

I don’t really care for the look of the current Armada / QX56, and I’m not sure the 2011 QX improves on the current design at all. The front end looks, well, very nice. Bold, modern, clean. It’s the profile / rear end that get me. The D pillar in particular is bizarre in a full-size SUV.

Then again, as with the current Armada / QX, it really isn’t about looks. It’s about the fantastic interior, phenomenal engine / transmission combo, and the ton of goodies that are available.

So does this mean that there will be a 2011 Nissan Armada? Too soon to tell. But I’ll put my money on it.

The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta sedan is out and about, though it’s still under pretty heavy camouflage. VW is going for an all-new look, which is good news, considering the current Jetta hasn’t changed design since 2004. Sure, it’s a good-looking car, but it’s time for a change.

Final design and hardware specs are unknown for now. Since VW has stated a desire to ramp up volume, expect the 2011 to go down market a bit in price. I think VW has finally realized that you can’t charge premium prices for a non-premium product.

Love Kia or hate Kia, this is not a brand that sits back and watches the world go by. Instead of following GM’s method of failure, Kia has instead opted to keep their products fresh. Even after a pretty big update for 2009, Kia has an all-new Sportage due for the 2011 model year. The 2011 Sportage is estimated to arrive sometime mid-2010.

Currently Sportage buyers can opt for a 4 cylinder or a V6 – and I don’t see any reason for that to change. Unless Kia retricts the Sportage to a 4 cylinder engine only, and reserves the V6 for the Sorento. When more details beocme available, you’ll see them here.

As much as I keep hoping that VW will come to its senses and rename the Touareg ( which I cannot spell correctly to save my life, let alone pronounce ), the name will soldier on.  These shots, captured by Car and Driver’s sleuths, capture the Porsche Cayenne’s platform sibling in full camo gear.  It’s hard to garner much information from the shots, since VW did such a great job covering things up. 

Reportedly, VW is expecting to shed 300 lbs from the 2011 Touarag – a very hefty weight improvement.  Probably taking a hit will be the off-road capabilities, which most folks don’t use anyway.  As an additional challenge, though, VW is going to try to squeeze a third row of seating inside.  That’s a tall order while trying to shed weight.  However, with the introduction of the smaller Tiguan, the Tuaraeg needs something to really separate it.
