So, you’re one of the lucky few able to afford a shiny new Lamborghini Aventador. Congratulations. Also, I hate you a little bit.

Jealousy aside, the Aventador is one amazing machine. It’s so amazing, in fact, that mere mortals aren’t allowed to fix it. For any sort of repairs that involve carbon fiber work, you have to ship the car to Seattle so a “flying doctor” with a magic toolkit can fix it.

Seriously.

No US dealerships are able to do the necessary repairs – repairs that a total of three engineers in the entire country will be able to perform. How’s that for exclusive?

The all-new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is finally here, and it is magnificent. Six hundred and ninety one horses is the total output from the six and a half liter V12 engine. The Aventador weighs in at a relatively light 3472 pounds – a full 200 pounds less than the Murcielago that it replaces. That means we’re looking at a much better power to weight ratio, and ultimately a faster car.

The nearly seven hundred horses are (thankfully) routed to all four wheels. No manual transmission is available, which is probably a good thing. No matter how good a driver you may think you are, you probably couldn’t handle rowing your own gears with this much power on tap.

As for looks, what is there to say? The Aventador is dead sexy. No one will confuse it for anything other than what it is – a Lamborghini. The scissor doors don’t hurt, either.

You can add an Aventador to your Lambo collection for the low, low price of $379,700. That’s before any options, of course. Fancy things like matte paint will run you an extra $14k or so. But really, what’s another $14k when you’re spending nearly four hundred thousand dollars?

For the proud owners of a Lamborghini Murcielago from the 2007 and 2008 model years, listen up. Lamborghini has issued a recall on these gorgeous machines. The welds holding the fuel pump support in place don’t seem to be quite up to spec. It’s possible for these welds to fail, which could lead to a detached fuel tank.

You don’t need a degree in botany to figure out that this would be not good. I’m talking sparks, fire, the works. If you’ve got one of these puppies in the garage, it’s time to take it to your friendly neighborhood Lamborghini dealer. Maybe on a flatbed.

Exotic. Gorgeous. Shocking. The 2012 Lamborghini Jota is exactly what you would expect from a Murcielago replacement.  The look is extreme, as any good Lambo should be – but not amateurishly so.  Only Lamborghini can really pull off that look, which is part of what makes them so unique.

The other big selling point for Lamborghinis, is of course, the outrageous performance.  There’s no official word on what will be under the rear hatch of the 2012 Jota, but there is a bit of speculation.  Look for a 700 HP V12 – possibly even a brand new design.  The Murcielago engine is actually based on a 40+ year old engine, so it may be time for a complete remake.

And of course the look of the Jota could change drastically between now and production time – though I hope not.  Polish it up a bit, and you have a worthy successor to the Murcielago.  Check out the gallery after the jump.

There won’t be a quiz at the end of this post, so you don’t have to worry about memorizing all those letters and numbers.  Meet the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster – extreme in typical Lambo fashion.  It just *looks* loud and fast.  And guess what – it’s loud and fast.  Under the hood is a 650 HP 6.5 liter V12, that also manages to produce 487 lb-ft of torque.  62 MPH will fly by in 3.4 seconds, if you feel inclined to count.  Top speed?  A reported 205 MPH.

Lamborghini is only planning to build 50 of the Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster with the custom exterior you see here – so if you want one, you had better be quick.  Oh, and rich.

After weeks of annoying teaser shots, Lamborghini finally unveiled their latest creation – the Estoque.  The Estoque concept is a full fledged four door Lambo – yep, a sedan Bull.  Unlike Ferrari, who will not be doing a four door of any kind, Lamborghini isn’t afraid to branch out.  On principle, I’d probably be against a sedan Lamborghini.  After seeing the Estoque, I have no such reservations.  This car looks exactly like a four door Lamborghini should look.  It’s outrageous.  It’s exotic.  It’s impossible to ignore.  And yet, it’s not ugly.  It looks exactly like it should, and no doubt it will perform as such too.

The engine hasn’t been announced yet, but I’d bet on seeing the 560 HP V10 from the Gallardo LP 560-4.  And why not?  That’s a phenomenal engine, and leaves the Murcielago as the only V12 powered Lambo.   However, there is also a quiet rumor of a possible turbocharged V8 based on that V10.  Turbos and V8′s go together fantastically on exotics, so again, I have no problem with this.  Either way, this car will be stupid fast.  They will sell out very quickly I’m sure, regardless o what absurd price is slapped on the window.  After all, there is only one Lamborghini sedan.

The folks in Italy are pretty good at getting exceptional mileage out of their models.  And no, I’m not talking about gas mileage ( that’s a whole different story alltogether ).  Rather, I’m talking about special editions.  Let’s face it – Lamborghini’s models have to cost a fortune to develop.  They’re pretty bad-ass after all.  Special editions like the Murcielago SV that you see here help keep the models from getting stale.

What’s so special about the SV?  Oh boy.  Lots.  Let’s start with a bump in horsepower to 680 – that’s up 57 HP from the regular old Murcielago LP640.  Power will be routed exclusively to the rear wheels – amateur drivers need not apply.  By dropping the AWD system and using gobs of carbon fiber, the Murcielago SV managed to shed 220 lbs as well.  More power, RWD, less weight – what’s not to like?  I even dig the big wing out back.

Magazine scans of the upcoming Lamborghini Gallardo LP550 have surfaced prior to the official unveiling of the car at Geneva.  You’ll probably have to be a Lambo expert to really see the difference between the vanilla Gallardo and the LP550 though.  The front air damn is deeper, and there is what looks like a third air intake up front.  There are also some new vents directly before the front pair of wheels.  The exhaust opening is also restyled, though nothing dramatic.

As you can see from the pictures, the story isn’t about the redesign.  The story is under the hood – the V10 gets increased to 5.2 liters, and puts out a whopping 550 HP.  That’s up from the 512 HP 5.0 liter powerplant in the regular Gallardo.  I’m all for more power, so I say bring it.  Pricing is still in the air – though it surely won’t come cheap.
