Well, Nissan has had a good run. Really they have - the last 5 or 6 years have been great for them. However, with their announcement yesterday I fear it’s all coming to an end. The announcement, made jointly by Nissan and Chrysler, involves to parts. The first part is not so bad - Nissan [...]

Remember two weeks ago when the word on the street was that Chrysler planned to axe up to 5 models from their bloated lineups? They made good on their promise, and today announced that 4 vehicles will mark 2008 as their last production year. The Chrysler Crossfire, Pacifica and PT Cruiser convertible, and [...]

According to Freep,
It’s “highly likely” Chrysler’s top brass will approve plans to kill vehicles this month, a person familiar with the situation told the Free Press. About five vehicles are being considered for elimination, but the source would not reveal which ones.
It sounds like the folks at the Chrysler LLC have been reading HoustonCars.org, and [...]

The deadline that the UAW set for Chrysler passed without an agreement, and the UAW officially began walking out at 11:00 AM this morning. Just like they did just a few weeks ago during the short-lived GM strike. This strike against Chrysler will affect about 49,000 UAW workers, who will enjoy a bit [...]

Chrysler has until Wednesday October 10th to give in to the UAW’s crazy demands, or else the overpaid UAW will strike, much as they did against GM. Fortunately, we all know how this will turn out. Chrysler will pretend to stand firm, and the UAW will strike. ( After all, the UAW [...]

The New Chrysler isn’t stopping it’s absurd number of recalls, regardless of name changes. The latest recall affects model year 2007 and 2008 Dodge Avengers and Chrysler Sebring sedans - 102,042 of them to be exact. This is out of approximately 127k Sebrings and Avengers that have been sold thru September this year [...]

If there’s anyone you can count on to make a 190k Honda recall not look so bad, it’s Chrysler. Letters will shortly be on their way to the unfortunate owners of nearly 300,000 2006 & 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokees and Commanders, 2007 Jeep Wranglers, and 2007 Dodge Nitros. What’s all the fuss about? [...]

The go along with their new blog, The New Chrysler has a New Logo. Of course, it will only go on marketing materials and ads - this new old logo won’t show up on any actual Chrysler products. Yea, that’s what they needed - a new logo. Not new cars or anything. After all, [...]

The New Chrysler, as the Cerberus owned brand has taken to calling themselves as of late, has joined GM in the blogging game. You can find their blog here, which is new, but the posts and comments are already piling up. I don’t know if blogging is the answer to all of Chrysler’s numerous problems, but [...]

Chrysler / Cerberus decided to skip matching Kia and Hyundai’s lengthy 10 year powertrain warranty. Instead, Chrysler is offering a lifetime powertrain warranty on all 2007 and 2008 Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge vehicles delivered after July 26, 2007. That’s right - a forever warranty on the powertrain.
The catch? There are two, in fact. The first [...]

The Chrysler Imperial, a cheap, blatant, Rolls-Royce Phantom knock-off, has officially been canceled. Chrysler cites the reasons as having to do with the proposed CAFE gas mileage improvements currently being mulled over by the United States government. Me? I call it common sense.

Chrysler has decided to cut some of the excess fat from the pricing on it’s bestselling minivans. Price drops vary depending on trim, but some drops are as large as $3,585 - not insignificant by any measure. It’s hard to say what sort of impact the lower sticker prices will have. On one hand, it [...]

The Poor Man’s Roll’s Royce Phantom is approved for production (unofficially). The Chrysler Imperial, which for all intents and purposes, is a blatant Phantom rip-off, got the green line from some drunk executive at Chrysler. Not only is the Imperial a clone, it’s a clone of a hideous car, which makes it pretty dang [...]

This may go down in history as one of the worst investments of all time, or one of the best. The way things look right now, I’d lean towards the latter. Daimler-Benz paid $36 billion for Chrysler in the “merger of equals” / takeover way back in 1998. So, 8 years later, Chrysler is [...]

Chrysler’s first hybrid offerings are the traditional small, funky looking hybrids that Honda and Toyota started out with, oh no. Chrysler didn’t even go the Nissan route and hybrid-ize their midsize sedan, the Sebring. Instead, they’ve decided to go where no automaker has gone before - full-size SUV hybrids.
Say what? Full-size [...]

The Chrysler Crossfire, the worst product of the ill-advised Daimler - Chrysler merger, is finally meeting it’s end. This summer will mark the end of production for this horrid, egg-shaped embarrassment on wheels.
It’s never a good decision to take an outdated platform from a luxury brand, create a new egg-shaped, completely unattractive exterior, and [...]

If you’re currently a member of the UAW, and working for Chrysler, you may be receiving one heck of an offer very soon. Chrysler will be offering members up to $100,000 to stop working and go home for good.
Hmm let’s look at the choices that that average UAW worker has.
Take the hundred grand and [...]

There have been rumors floating around for awhile now, that GM is considering purchasing Chrysler. I called it way back in December 06, with my 10 Auto Industry Predictions for 2007. That is, I called it that Daimler would rid itself of the parasite that is the Chrysler group. I had no [...]

Chrysler is pulling out the axe again, and this time they’re targeting 1,000 white collar workers, mostly in Michigan. And of course, this is in addition the the 10k blue-collar jobs that are already planned to be cut. Ahh, job security. Anyone know if Toyota’s hiring?

If you wait until March, that is. The Detroit news announced Chrysler’s new marketing gimmick fantastic plan. Buy any Chrysler group product that has an optional Hemi, and get it for free. Normally the Hemi runs between $1,000 and $1,700 extra. With these wonderful days of high-priced gasoline, I wonder if [...]

Finally Chrysler got the memo - don’t build more cars than you can sell! The rest of the industry figured this out long ago, but the big cheese at Chrysler must’ve been out golfing our something. Anyway, Chrysler announced plans to cut production effective immediately, through early 2007 - something they desperately [...]
