Audi makes some pretty amazing vehicles. The A4 line is very popular here, but it doesn’t blow me away. It’s big brothers, the S4 and RS4, on the other hand, are quite fascinating. Since us Yanks (we Yanks?) won’t be getting the RS4, we’ll have to make do with the S4. Autoblog managed to get a few pictures of the upcoming S4 Avant. (Avant is German/Audi for wagon.)

Check ‘em out when you have a chance – this is the very definition of a sleeper. The current S4 packs a supercharged TFSI V6 good for 333 horsepower and 325 lb/ft of torque. It’s quiet, extremely refined, and powerful. Audi’s excellent Quattro AWD system is present of course, which means the S4 handles like a dream. Audi, thanks for giving us the S4. But maybe you could rethink that RS4?

Existing only in the minds of Audi’s mad scientists until now, check out the first sketches of the next-generation Audi A3. Powered, at least in mad-scientist concept form, by a turbo 5 good for 408 horsepower, this car is no joke.

The styling has a little four-door coupe thing going on, but not to an extreme. The biggest thing to remember about this car is that it’s 175 inches long – which puts it squarely into subcompact territory. In other words, it’s going to be fricking fast.

Bad news for would-be owners of a new Audi A8. For the 2011 model year, there’s a $2000 price hike over the 2010 model.

Laughing yet? Of course you are. We’re talking about an Audi A8 for crying out loud. Base price for the 2011 model will be $78,050. If that extra two grand makes you go a different direction, well… Let’s just say Audis aren’t for everyone

Not an S1, since it’s only front wheel drive. Still, it’s packing 185 HP from it’s 1.4 liter direct injected Twincharged four cylinder engine. Twincharged? Yep, it’s exactly what it sounds like – a supercharger *and* a turbocharger.

You know this is coming, but you still hope it isn’t. Sorry, but this “almost an S1″ isn’t coming to the US – it’s for the European market only.

The 2011 Audi A7 has been spotted circling the Nurburgring track in Germany. Unfortunately for us, Audi has the 2011 A7 covered up completely, so we can’t really get much of a look at it. All we can tell is that this is one big four door coupe / hatch looking thing. And that’s really it.

As for hardware, we do know that the A7 will share it’s platform with the A8, though it will be a shorter version of course. The next generation A6 will also use the same platform, yet be slightly smaller than the A7. One has to ask, at what point is there too much overlap in a product line? Until I get a look at the final 2011 A7, it’s hard to say. But this might be one of those instances where there really isn’t any room between two models. What say you, good readers?

There’s no denying it – the Audi R8 is one of my most desired supercars. When Audi released the R8 V10, I was even more in love. Who doesn’t love two extra cylinders and a ton more horsepower? Today I’m in love all over again. Why? Meet the 2010 Audi R8 GT.

I know what you must be thinking – ZOMG I WANT ONE. Yea, me too. I suggest you get in line quickly, if your pockets are deep enough. Audi is only building 333 of these amazing cars, at an estimated price of 193,000 Euros. That’s roughly $256k to us Americans. Then again, Audi hasn’t said for sure if they’ll even offer the R8 GT over here in the ‘States.

The Audi RS3 has been spotted.  In fact, it was pretty hard to miss in bright orange.  Now this one is disguised as an S3 Sportback, but there’s a whole lot of new goodies underneath.  Like all RS models, the RS3 will sport Quattro all wheel drive.  Audi is expected to stick some version of the turbocharged 2.5 liter I5 under the hood – the same engine in the TT RS.

Horsepower is expected to be in the 330 + range – with a sub 5 second 0-60 MPH time.  Perhaps the only possible disappointment is the lack of a traditional manual transmission – the RS3 will sport an S-tronic transmission instead.

The official release is due this fall, probably in Paris.  Nothing solid on pricing just yet, but if you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it.

Hello, 2011 RS5.  450 HP produced by a wicked 4.2 liter V8 engine. 317 lb-ft of torque. Seven speed S Tronic transmission. Quattro AWD. Two doors. Put all that together, and you end up with the awesome 2011 Audi RS5. At least if you’re in Europe, that is – no idea if or when this puppy is coming to the States.

For our lucky European brothers, the 2011 RS5 can be had for the low, low price of just 77,700 Euros. That’s the base price, of course. We all know how quickly German cars can skyrocket in price when you start adding options.  That said, it’s priced about reasonably for the level of performance you get.  And don’t forget the sexiness – that’s included at no additional charge.  Check out pics of the 2011 RS5 after the jump.

Years and years of waiting are (almost) over. Audi has finally announced, officially announced, that is, the 2011 Audi A1. At least for our European brethren that is. There’s no word on if / when the US will see this mini car.

Speaking of MINI, that’s who Audi is going after with the A1. Decidedly “mini” in size, the A1 is just 155.5 inches long. To be fair, that’s a full 10″ longer than the Mini Cooper, but the same length as the Mini Clubman. Under the hood will be your choice of the following engines:

• 90 HP / 169 lb-ft 1.6 liter TDI
• 105 HP / 184 lb-ft 1.6 liter TDI
• 86 HP / 118 lb-ft 1.2 liter TFSI Gas I-4
• 122 HP / 147 lb-ft 1.4 liter TFSI Gas I-4

Curb weight is a scant 2300 lbs – which should be good for handling and fuel economy. All in all, it’s a smart little car. Good looks, sounds like performance will be solid, plenty of luxury options, and a base price of 16,000 Euros. Hey Audi, we (United States) like cars like this too. Just sayin.

Sorry, no pics yet!  Just some rumored specs.  If you were hoping for a micro Audi with quattro AWD, it looks like you’ll be disappointed.  The 2011 S1 will be FWD only, just like Polo GTI that it’s based on.  Under the hood will be a turbocharged 1.4 liter direct injection 4 banger, good for 180 HP and 184 lb-ft of torque.

That’s a very healthy amount of power for such a small vehicle.  Remember, the S1 will be competing with the Mini Cooper S – the most famous micro car on the road.

Pricing is unknown yet.  Surely it won’t be cheap, as it’s wearing the 4 rings of Audi… but at the same time it can’t be too pricey, given it’s size, and target market.
