Audi R8 V10 5.2 liter FSI Quattro

2010-audi-r8-v10-fsi Say that three times fast.  Can’t?  Don’t worry, neither can I.  But I’d wager to say who cares?  The 2010 Audio R8 V10 FSI is one of the most bad-ass vehicles to come out of Germany – and that says a whole lot right there.  The vanilla Audi R8 is one of my favorite cars as it is – with exotic good looks, all wheel drive, a strong high-revving screaming V8 – what’s not to like?

In nearly every case, a car can be improved with a larger, more powerful engine.  And the Audi R8 is no exception.  Enough chatter – let’s take a quick look at the core specs of this car.

Audi R8 V10 5.2 liter FSI Quattro Specs

  • 525 HP 5.2 liter V10
  • Quattro All wheel drive
  • Who cares what else?

Did I mention there’s a 525 horsepower 5.2 liter V10 behind the driver’s seat?  If that engine sounds familiar, that’s because a slightly more powerful version of it can be found in none other than the Lamborghini Gallardo.  The Audi “only” gets 525 HP, to keep the Lambo as the top dog.  I think it will survive.

Performance numbers aren’t official yet.  0-60 should come in less than 4 seconds, and the top speed is a sick 196 MPH.  No doubt the quarter mile will blow by before you know what happened.

Base price is expected to be $ 180,000 in Europe, with no official price tag for the US market yet.  For a car like this, that price isn’t entirely out of line.  People that purchase an Audio R8 V10 won’t really care what that funny sticker in the window says, they’ll just want to get behind the wheel and see what it can do.  I can relate – can you?
