2014 Nissan Titan

Two thousand and fourteen – that’s when we’ll finally see a brand new Titan.  Before Chrysler went bankrupt, the plan was for Dodge to build the next generation Titan.  Nissan would slap on some new sheet metal, and call it a Titan.  Fortunately, Chrysler, you know, went bankrupt.  For some reason, Chrysler chose to get out of the Nissan deal at this time.  I’m not exactly sure why, because it seemed like a sweet deal for Chrysler.  In any case, that plan got scrapped, and Nissan was seemingly stuck, since this new Ram / Titan was supposed to debut for the 2011 model year.

Nissan finally decided that they’re going to go ahead and redesign the Titan all on their own, and release it in 2014.  That’s a long way off, especially with Titan sales in the toilet already.  Will extra value packages and big rebates be enough to keep buyers coming to the showroom for the next 4 years?  Who knows.  But that’s the plan, at least until it isn’t.
