Ford has priced the heavily upgraded 2013 GT500, and it won’t come cheap. It will start at a cool $54,995 with destination. That’s about an extra five grand from the 2012 model, which sounds like a lot. Remember, though, the 2013 Shelby packs 650 horsepower — a full 100 more than the outgoing model. When you look at it that way, the price increase, and indeed the price itself, look ridiculously cheap.
If you insist on spending all your pennies, however, you can option out a GT500 to just over $66 grand. At that price, it still has no competitors in the power department. It really lives in its own little supercharged world.
