2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS

Make no mistake about it, the 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the most powerful Porsche ever built. (Yes, that includes the famed Carrera GT.) In a long line of ridiculously fast 911’s, the 2011 GT2 RS is the fastest, most powerful yet. The specs are absolutely ridiculous – particularly the 620 HP figure. I won’t keep you waiting – here are the important specs:

2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Specs

  • 620 HP 3.6 liter twin-turbo flat 6 (Up 90 HP)
  • Curb weight: 3021 lbs (Down 154)
  • 0-62 MPH in 3.5 seconds
  • Top speed: 205 MPH
  • Laps the Nurburgring in 7 minutes, 18 seconds.

A drastic power increase coupled with a 154 pound diet makes for ridiculous speed. Calling this car fast just doesn’t do it justice. It even topped the Corvette ZR1 around the ‘Ring, which is a pretty incredible feat.

Porsche will only build 500 of the 2011 GT2 RS, so if you want one, you’ll need to jump on it quickly. It should go without saying that you’ll need exceptionally deep pockets to actually buy one. US pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but the starting price in Euros will be $237,578. As of today, that translates to just over $300k US, though that doesn’t mean we’ll see quite that high of a price tag.

Check out an awesome video filled with Porsche goodness, and a picture gallery after the jump.
