2011 Nissan Leaf Sold Out

The 2011 Nissan Leaf is sold out. Seven months before deliveries begin, and Nissan has already received enough reservations to declare 2010 production units completely sold out. This only applies to US customers, of course – there may still be some units available for reservation in Japan.

To date, Nissan has received deposits for 13,000 Leaf electric cars. That’s not too shabby, considering this is a brand new model that few have even seen in person yet, and none have driven. With a starting price of $32,780 before tax credits, the Leaf seems to be priced right.

If you still want a Leaf, but haven’t reserved one yet, it might be time to go ahead and get your name on that list. You’ll be waiting until sometime in 2011 for your delivery, but at least you’ll have the option to buy one.
