Or so the current rumor says. Though it’s just a rumor at this point, it’s probably not very far off the mark. The hot new Camaro currently puts the Mustang’s horsepower numbers to shame, and Ford can’t be particularly happy about that. Traditionally, the Camaro has tended to outpower the Mustang.. so it’s not really surprising.
Supposedly, the 2011 Mustang will get huge upgrades – 315 HP from the 3.7 liter V6, and an even 400 HP from the “Coyote” 5.0 liter V8. The V6 has loooooong needed a big fat upgrade, and this sounds like just the ticket. And of course, you can’t upgrade the V6 without doing the same with the V8 – welcome back, 5.0 .
