Hello, smiley.  You’re looking at the 2010 ( possibly 2011 ) Ford Fusion grille.  The bars are wider, darker, and, err, smilier.  No one will be able to accuse the new Fusion of being grumpy, in any case.

It’s not a horrible look, mind you, but I don’t see the point.  The current Fusion grille is the single element that makes the car.  Once you see it, it is instantly recognizable as a Fusion.  It’s a bold design cue that shouldn’t get toned down.
