The reason so many are on the road is because they are cheap, cheap, cheap. Chevy has to give them away.... otherwise no one would buy them. Plus GM frequently complains about being unable to profit from small cars. Notice that Honda and Toyota don't make this claim... their compact offerings are much higher quality than the Cobalt, and are able to command more money.
