I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla S Model and also have steering problems. When going over 60-65 mph I notice the steering is a little shaky and it is difficult to keep a straight line. It feels like strong winds are shifting my car side to side as I am trying to control it from driving off the lane. It is spooky. I hope there is a way of fixing this. I avoid taking the highway because of this and am scared to travel longer distances. I know the National Highway Traffic Safety Association has received over 100 complaints about this issue and are looking to investigate Toyota. Something needs to get done. I feel like it just isn't fast enough. How many accidents and deaths does it take in order for something to get fixed. Toyota needs to admit they are at fault or admit that there is a defect instead of blaming it on "driver's in error" or the stupid floor mat entrapement and fix it already.

Yes, I am having a problem with the steering. Is there a recall on yet? How long as this group been talking about this? From what Toyota Dealer told me I am alone on anyone else experiencing issue with steering mimicking I am driving on a rainy road when it's dry.

Electric power Steering (EPS) Disabling above 50 mph

Our small Houston Corolla club disabled the Power assist (EPS Power Steering). We draw less amps and get about 1 mpg more at highway speeds.

I thought I was the only one with a steering problem. The car dealer said nothing was wrong and I needed to get use to the steering. But my steering wheel moves on it own. Be careful Girls and Guys.

Don't drive straight - My Opinion: Steering will be recalled

I was really referring just to the 09 Corollas. They have went to a total electric steering system and a lot of reviewers and some consumers say that the car has to be constantly adjusted to hold a center line which can get very tiresome on long drives. Also, they say that it takes some getting used to as the car will not "straighten out by itself" when turning at slow speed but must be actually steered to center again.

Scared - The car veers to the right or left. The car steering for the 2009 droves all over the road. It's only time until Toyota looks into this danger.
