Granted, the name is still up in the air - Suzuki hasn’t made the formal announcement yet.  Equator is the rumored favorite though, for Suzuki’s all-new midsize pickup truck.  Wait a minute though, doesn’t the 09 Equator look awfully familiar?  Where have we seen that truck before… Doesn’t it looks like the been-around-since-2005 Nissan Frontier? 

If you were thinking the same thing, then Kudos.  Suzuki’s “all-new” truck is simply a rebadged Nissan Frontier.  Frontier sales have been in the toilet lately, so Nissan had manufacturing capacity to spare.  Suzuki has, well, no product to sell, so it’s a match made in heaven.  Except for the fact that rebadged vehicles are completely pointless in every way.  Will more people buy the Frontier now that it has a Suzuki badge on it?  Not likely.
