The Cummins diesel is a great engine - easily one of the best engine available today. The latest Hemi, not so much. You are in the minority if you're a Dodge owner who hasn't had reliability issues. It's certainly not the norm, and can't be expected.

Why am I on this site? Well, I own it for one. And I write the majority of the articles. Oh yea and I OWN IT.

And for the record, I agree that the Tundra is vastly overpriced, and the Ridgeline doesn't even qualify as a truck.

Final thought - I wrote up a great post on the new 2009 Ram. First impression is that I really like it. So there.

I don't know why all you people bash dodges. My immediate family currently owns 4 mega cabs , 2 quad cabs, and one durango, with either the Cummins or the 5.7l hemi in them and we have had virtually no problems with every single one of them. We have tried fords and chevy's and have recived nothing but major problems with all of them. They just wont hold up to the work that we do. As far as the rice burners, toyotas and p-o-s hondas, they shouldn't even be considered trucks, they are an f in joke if u ask me.Mr. honda civic hybrid, why are u on this site u obviously have no idea what your talking about. Yeah i admit the Hemis do use a lot of gas but so does everything else that is worth a s-h-i-t. Our Cummins Diesel trucks have excellent fuel mileage i don't know why anyone is complaining about them. Dodge is just number one period.

I like my Ram alot. I have waited on the new 09 and may trade up when the two mode hybrid goes in it next year. If I like the looks. Love the Mopar vehicles, styling etc.. But I will admit for reliability they are pretty low. Mine has had too many problems to even mention here. If I was buying just strictly for dependability I would not buy a Dodge. Same goes for fuel milage tit is teerible, probably the worst out there.

But that ain't the only reason we buy anything. They are good trucks just as the other brands are mostly but they all have their issues. Best buy the style that suits you best and what you like the looks of.

Yeah, um, the Dodge Ram is a "bad truck", that's why they sell 300,000+ of them every year and it has one of the highest owner loyalty rankings in the industry (source: Automotive News). Statistically it's the longest lasting pickup in production and has been for years (source: vehicle registration data, also Automotive News). You have no clue what you're talking about and it's painfully obvious. "If you're going to be an ass, at least be an educated ass" - very good advice indeed.

Andrew:
I drive a Honda Civic Hybrid currently, dark blue if you must know. I recently traded in my Mustang Mach1 and Lincoln Navigator because I was sick of spending so much on gas. Your comment is reasonably civil, so it stays. I delete comments that have the sole purpose of pissing me off and being a general ass.

Jeremy:
You are horrible at math. I believe you are referring to this - "try movin at leat 5000k with a 6cyl" , and I stated that a Ram can't move 5 million pounds. "K" is a symbol for "thousand". So 5000k becomes 5 thousand thousand, or 5 million. If you're going to be an ass, at least attempt to be an educated ass.

John Q:
Offering discounts is a benefit to the consumer right now, today. When it's time to trade in the vehicle, the resale value has long taken a nosedive, and it's painful. I can't tell you how many folks I've seen 10, 15, or even twenty thousand dollars upside down on their Dodge Rams. Sub par quality, sub par reliability, and heavy discounts have done horrible things to the resale value of the Ram.

For what it's worth, I think the Tundra is over-sized and way, way overpriced. $47k for a light-duty pickup truck? What has the world come to? That should buy you a 1-ton truck with every option imaginable.
