2009 Dodge Charger Specs

2009-dodge-charger Dodge poked around under the hood of the popular Charger, and managed to come up with an extra 28 HP, bringing the new total to 368 HP.  Not a bad output from that bad-ass 5.7 liter HEMI V8.  If you’re more of an SRT-8 kind of guy, you’ll have to make due with the same 425 HP that we’re used to.  Poor baby.

Perhaps the strangest news, though, is the output from the base 2.7 liter V6 – it actually dropped from 190 to 178 HP.  Rarely do you see output drop from one model year to the next.  Go figure.

Bonus: I almost forgot.  Along with the horsepower bump, the HEMI engine gets an extra 1 MPG city , and 1 MPG highway – the new totals are 16 MPG / 24 MPG.  More power AND it uses less fuel?  Dodge is doing something right for a change.  Way to go.
