2009 Corvette ZR1

2008 Corvette ZR1The Super Corvette that goes by the codename “Blue Devil” will bear the legendary ZR1 badge, at least according to Motor Trend. The Blue Devil has previously been called the Corvette SS and Corvette Z07, but ZR1 does seem a more fitting name.

Those Corvette fans reading are surely smiling as they recall the 1990 Corvette ZR-1 that had the magnificent Lotus-designed 32 valve DOHC 375 HP V8 under the hood. It was, in fact, the only DOHC Corvette ever produced, and it was a monster.

With an estimated 650 HP on tap from it’s blown V8, this car is sure to honor the ZR1 badge without any trouble. If it’s half as good as I expect it to be, it’ll be the best Vette ever.
