Though GM may be backing off many of the RWD cars that they promised, it looks like they’re still going to deliver on the Cadillac side. The next generation Cadillac CTS-V is due to make it’s debut fall of 2008, and it’s not messing around.
The 2009 Cadillac CTS-V is expected to have 500 horsepower – Bob Lutz said the power will be “unexpectedly high”. Since the current CTS-V is using the last generation LS6 from the Corvette Z06, it only makes sense to use the new 505 HP 7.0 liter LS7 for the new CTS-V. If GM does decide to drop this firebreathing monster of an engine into the new CTS-V, then I think it’s safe to say that the BMW M5 had better watch out.
