These aren’t the first time the 2009 CTS-V has been caught on film. It is, however, the first time that it’s been caught without any funky camouflage going on. Inside Line managed to snag a few shots of GM’s new super sedan in the buff, for all of our enjoyment.
So, what makes the CTS-V so special? A more aggressive look, of course – complete with a new front end and big wheels. Oh, and the secret powerplant under the hood – the one everyone keeps talking about, but no one really knows about.
The rumors say that the 09 CTS-V will be sporting either a supercharged 6.2 liter V8, or a natural aspirated 7.0 liter V8. Either way, power output is expected to be in the 525 HP area – not too bad for a Caddy. There will also be a choice of 6 speed auto or 6 speed manual – so no one’s left out.
Stay tuned for the official unveiling in Detroit this January.

Man, love the new 2008 CTS but the 09 V?? That front end is not really that great at all. Maybe test driving one with the 500+ ponies would make me forget about that. I watched the video of the V in camo at the track, it looked and sounded impressive. But now as i see it “naked”,that bump and the “old V” grillwork did nothing for the new car. They did such a fantastic job with the styling with the new CTS and to stick on some old grillwork with not so stylish farings, just killed the car for me. That’s my take. I guess i’ll have to wait until 2010 or beyond.
550 HP tends to make one forget about whether the front bumper looks ridiculous or not. But for the record, it does look pretty rough… rather like a bolt-on body kit that doesn’t quite match up.
the car is awesome with 550 horses, but the front end with that humped hood looks out of place. they should have opted with the sts v style hood and maybe the front end from a 2008 cts, instead. they ruined the cars looks with theat front end and hood.
Why do Auto makers keep doing this? Honestly once Cadillac changed the back end of the CTS-V to that retarded angular look they ruined the car. Just look at the sales once they changed that. They have plummetted and guarantee its not just the economy that caused it. Auto makers have sucha bad habit of taking a hot selling car design and just plain ruining it the following years. Look at th Mustang. They took that sporty, clean new age look and slapped that ridiculous throwback to the 60′s front end. And American automakers wonder why Japanese cars keep pummeling them in sales.
