Nissan announced a recall for a total of 26,398 vehcles. The affected vehicles include certain Altimas from the 2009 model year, as well as Maximas from both 2009 and 2010. What seems to be the issue? A possibly faulty upper front strut insulator. Potentially, this piece could crack, which could unseat the strut rod, which is, of course, bad. Affected owners should be getting a notice in the mail soon. If you’re anxious and don’t want to wait, you can call Nissan at 800-647-7261 to see if your car is affected.
