When Nissan introduced the X Trail to Canada they said that it was too small for the US market, knowing full well that no more X Trails were to be sold in Canada as they had already planned to market just as small a vehicle in the future both north and south of the border.

They don’t sell the X-Trail here in the US, but I think the Rogue is a better fit for our market right now anyway. If Nissan markets it right, they will sell an absolute TON of these vehicles.

The Rogue has a curious name, as discussed at GoodCarBadCar, but it seems like a better vehicle than the X-Trail Canadians have already bought plenty of.

Canada has been served the X-Trail for a few years now and it’s become a bit of a surprising sales success, please Nissan to no end. The Rogue does appear to be a better vehicle and, as noted, has a great pricing scheme.
