2008 Nissan GT-R Magazine Scans

2008 Nissan GT-R The 2008 Nissan GT-R is perhaps the most anticipated car of 2008. America has been waiting for a a Skyline GT-R since, well, forever. This will be the first GT-R officially released to the American public, and people are clamoring to get their hands on one. The GT-R pictured here is probably the upscale EVO trim, which is why it’s so futuristic looking.

The 2008 Nissan GT-R will come in three trims – base, V-Spec, and EVO. All three trims will sport a twin-turbo VQ V6, though the displacement is not set in stone just yet. I’d wager to say we’ll see the 3.7 liter version, but that’s just my guess.

The base model will start out at $67,000, and put out 480 HP from the twin-turbo 6. The Big Daddy EVO will start at a jaw-dropping $94,000, and put out an impressive 530 HP. It will also weigh 220 lbs less than the base trim – Nissan really put the GT-R EVO on a diet.

I don’t know if the EVO is work at extra $30 grand when compared to the base model.. sure it’s got some extra juice, and it’s lighter. But that extra $30 grand is a lot to ask for 50 horsepower and 220 lbs less. In any case, I can’t wait for this car – can you?
