Nissan is finally making an update to it’s full-size SUV – the Armada. This won’t be a complete redesign unfortunately, but rather a fairly thorough freshening. From these pictures, we can tell that the front end is getting toned down a little bit, with much smaller ‘fangs’ than the current edition. The lower fascia is getting the Pathfinder treatment, which appears to be a welcome change.
The interior is where the big news is – the center stack gets a much-needed redesign. The entire layout looks much much nicer and more upscale, if that makes sense. Unfortunately, Nissan is keeping the current gated shifter that I despise. There are some new goodies though, such as some fake wood that we can’t see too well, and new armrests on the doors. A power-folding third row of seats is now optional – finally. The Expedition has had this forever Nissan! Bluetooth will also be available this year, as well as XM Nav Traffic ( with the Navigation system, of course ).
I still think the Armada drives too big, for what it’s worth. It’s too hard to maneuver in tight places, and needs some work in that area before I’m a fan. A-pillar blind spots are also excessive. The interior upgrades are nice though, especially the power-folding third row. Source.
