2008 Nissan Altima Coupe - It’s coming

We’ve shown you spy shots, and we’ve confirmed the rumors. Now, Nissan officially announced the coming of an Altima Coupe. Nissan is planning to release the Altima coupe in the summer of 2007 as a 2008 model year car.

Nissan had two choices with the new Altima - they could’ve been lazy and just lopped off two doors from the fantastic Altima sedan and called it a day. But Nissan is usually better than that - and they are this time around. While the basic car is the same, Nissan went the extra mile to make the Altima coupe special.

At 55.3 inches tall, the 2008 Altima Coupe will be 2.5 inches shorter than the sedan, and at 182.5 inches long, it’s a full 7.1 inches shorter in length. Only the hood is borrowed from the sedan, all the other major body panels are designed specifically for the coupe.

As with the sedan, the Altima coupe has your choice of two engines and two transmissions. Whether you choose the phenomenal 270 HP 3.5 liter V6 or the fuel-efficient 175 HP 2.5 liter I4, you get your choice of a 6 speed manual or a CVT. Bottom line - this car is amazing. With all the work that obviously went into this car, people will take notice, and they’ll buy. Any Nissan dealers starting a waiting list yet?

FWD layout, your choice of a 2.5 liter 4 banger, or the big daddy 3.5 liter 6.

FWD HUH, WELL THE 08 ACCORD COUPE WILL HAVE SOME COMPETITION IN THE MID SIZE FWD COUPE. I WONDER IF TOYODA WOULD DO THE SAME. OH! CAN YOU SEE IT.

A souped up Accord VS Altima I can get on board with.
I *hate* the new Camry. It handles worse than an old Crown Victoria… it’s soooooooooo bad there really aren’t words to justify it.
Mmm 2008 Altima Coupe SE-R. 300 HP anyone?

SOUNDS GOOD TO ME, I WONDER IF THEY MADE A FAST AND FURIOUS WITH THE SOUPED UP ACCORD AGAINST THE SE-R IN A FRONT WHEEL DRIFT. HAND BRAKE ANYONE?

My personal choice would be a Honda Accord coupe with a V8 Doch Vtec 6spd manual trans. and turbo charged! hopefully that’s what honda does and makes its first ever V8 my grandma ownes the first convertible Honda made and my mom like’s the Ridgeline and now it’s time for Honda to make a V8! Dont you think so?

Why the hell would they make a v8? As if a front-wheel layout isn’t bad enough, put a v8 in there and give it even more understeer. Why don’t you just save your money and go buy a car that is meant for real speed and handling (bmw, audi, benz, lexus…) and stop dreaming on these econo-sedans being wanna-be sports cars.

YAH A V8 FWD IS A BIT MUCH AND TURBO?!!! NO WAY……, YOU WONT HAVE ANY TIRES LEFT IF THEY DO THAT. LOOK INTO A 350Z OR S2000 ANYWAY I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD V8 THE S2000 NOT THE ACCORD AND NO TURBO.

I…… DON’T THINK HONDA WILL BE MAKING A V8, INSTEAD THE RIDGELINE WILL RECEIVE A DIESEL 3.5 V6 AND THE ACCORD WILL REPLACE THEIR HYBRID WITH A 2.2L DIESEL 4CYL. BY 2009 ACCORDING TO THE INFOMATION IN OF THE AUTO MAGAZINES I’VE READ RECENTLY AND A FEW WEBSITES. THAT’S ONE OF THE SEGGESTED MOVES THAT HONDA IS GOING TO TAKE, IT’S OLD TALK SINCE 2003.
