The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is an amazing machine - 617 horsepower derived from a massive 5.4 liter, supercharged V8. The only thing it doesn’t do is cater to open-air aficionados - it’s a coupe only.

Until now, that is. Meet the brand new 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster - all the pure, ridiculous power that the coupe has. Estimated MSRP is about $499,000 - about $45 grand more than the coupe. Of course, if you’re considering spending nearly half a million dollars on a car, I’m thinking that the extra $45k wouldn’t stop you from going all out and getting the droptop.

And for you speed nuts, estimated 0-60 is a sick 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 207 MPH.
