2008 Lamborghini Reventon

2008-Lamborghini-Reventon The Ultimate Lamborghini has arrived, and it’s name is Reventon. Ok, so the name is lame – no sense beating around the bush. Is the performance lame too? Let’s take a look at what the latest Italian supercar is all about. Edit: Apparently the Reventon is named after the bull that killed toreador Felix Guzman in 1943 – which makes sense for a Lamborghini. Ok so the name has some history, though I still don’t like it.

2008-Lamborghini-Reventon-back Basically the Reventon is a super Murcielago – with all-new custom bodywork, made of carbon fiber naturally. Power is up just 10 HP ( For a total of 650 HP from the 6.5 liter V12 ). That makes it the most powerful factory produced Lamborghini, ever. Oh, and it’s the most expensive too. Pricing reports vary a bit, but this beast is expected to cost between $1,000,000 and $1,400,000 – that’s between $1 million and $1.4 million dollars. You’ll have to leave a cool $ 300,000 deposit to reserve one , since just 20 are going to be produced.

I’m not very good at math, but off the top of my head, $300k buys you 3 and a half Dodge Vipers, 4 Corvette Z06’s, or a whopping 6 Shelby GT500’s. Or, of course, you could buy a Ferrari F430 and have plenty of change left over. That $300k, of course, is just the deposit. I’m not sure if $1 million plus makes sense for an extra 10 HP and a redesigned body. Remember, the 1000 HP Bugatti Veyron cost $1.3 million, and will run circles around this thing. I’m just saying.
