2008 Hummer H3 Alpha

2008 Hummer H3 Alpha The Hummer H3, the smallest, greenest Hummer on the road, is going to get a little less green for 2008. I guess it felt less manly than it’s big brother H2, who spews out ridiculous amounts of carbon monoxide and gets 8 miles per gallon, going downhill with a 40 mph tailwind.

To help it feel less inferior, GM is going to step up and give the 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha a V8, instead of the current inline 5 cylinder engine. Power will be increased to 295 HP, complete with 317 lb-ft of torque. GM, in all it’s wisdom, decided to keep the sad 4 speed automatic transmission.

EPA numbers aren’t out yet, and likely won’t be for awhile. But it’s safe to say that the ‘green’ Hummer definitely got a little bit less efficient, and less green. Kudos, GM.
