2007 SSC Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo
The name isn’t particularly elegant, but you are looking at the fastest production car in the world. That’s right, the Shelby Supercars Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo made a top speed average run of 255.83 MPH - that’s over 3 MPH faster than the previous record-holder Bugatti Veyron. The first one is officially for sale, so if you have deep pockets, here’s your chance to buy it. No word on the price - your guess is as good as mine. But I think it’s safe to say you’re probably looking at somewhere in the high 6 to low 7 figure range. Serious buyers only, please.
As for numbers, how about 1183 horsepower and 1094 lb-ft of twist? That’s right, over eleven hundred horsepower. More than two Shelby GT500’s combined. Total curb weight is just 2700 lbs ( over 1400 lbs less than the Veyron ) - thanks to a specially designed carbon fiber body. For some reason, this car is fitted with a manual transmission. How in the world someone could be confident enough to row their own gears in a car this powerful is beyond me. But of course, I’d be willing to give it a shot.
