My civic si impresses me every day. I recently did a clutch job in a 2003 nissan 350 z, went for a test drive, and instantly realized my 2007 civic si would dust this car in seconds,no joke....Honda really has made a nice all around car , I love mine.........John from ct.

Wow. 0-60 in 8 secs huh? BS. 6.6 tops. i ordered an 08 Taffy white Si sedan. I love JDM style. like stated before its not a straight line rocket, its meant to be driven, taking fast corners, just an overall fun car to drive and mod. I-VTEC baby and get 30 mpg. I think the engine dampener will be my first mod,if i can get the mugen Si CAI i will but if not just a SRI, then skunk2 exhaust, so on and so forth it will never end.

I own an '08 Si sedan and the zero to 60 time is definitely lower than stated.

Driven Properly it can hit 60 in under 6.5 Seconds consistently right off of the showroom floor.

Put a Ingalls "Stiffy" Engine torque dampener on it and you will hit 60 even faster. I have done this and put in a drop in K&N for now (much more to come). The K20 is a proven motor with a great amount of potential. Pedal placement is ideal for weekend track racing as well with heel and toe being a breeze with it. The gearbox is smooth and tight (thow a short shift kit with bushings on it and it's even better and tighter) and keep it between 6-8 thousand rpm's on the track working the powerband.

The weight difference does not hardly make any difference at all. I attribute there inconsistencies with "driver" skill level rather than the car. The FA5 or USDM 4 door along w/ the FA2 or JDM 4 door has slightly better front to rear weight balance as well (4door 59/41 vs the coupe 60/40) on a track running circuit's they are evenly matched. It all comes down to the driver.

In Japan they don't even sell a 2 door on the new Civic's. It's simply deemed the Type R or Type RR. Spoon and a few other companies also have produced impressive results with the new car/engine with some youtube vids showing them even beating S2000's on certain tracks.

These reviewers need to get off of the competitions payroll. The Si is balanced and designed to be naturally aspirated and high reving which is perfectly in line with Honda's Type R philosophy. They are not producing a straight line rocket but rather a "over-all" balanced circuit performing car for daily driving. They actually had to tune it down to get it into America with our emmission laws.

The competition has good cars as well for what they are and in the end get the one you are most happy with but to the reviewers............nevermind it's not worth the extra typing.

You're right Eric. TTAC is waaaaaay off base on the 0-60 time. Maybe they were driving it in reverse by mistake.

That "Truth about cars" website is full of it! 8.4 sec 0 to 60?? Give me a break that is so obviously wrong!! What the hell is wrong with these ppl? I wonder if they got paid by Honda's competitors to say that...It can go under 7 sec for sure and with a good driver maybe even 6.3 or so.
